According to them [the Food Police], you have to eat breakfast each morning or you won’t be able to think, you will crash your metabolism, you’ll binge later in the day, and you’ll have no energy.
Luckily, Intuitive/Mindful/Fuck it Eating #101 says the only time you eat is when you are physically hungry (and sometimes when you’re emotionally hungry depending on who you listen to). Ergo … you don’t eat when the thought of food makes you feel slightly nauseous.
So here is my secret — I don’t eat breakfast. Not hungry in the mornings, don’t feel like it, not interested (unless it’s bacon and eggs on Sunday at around lunch time). It’s not the most important meal of the day … mostly because meals aren’t really that important unless it’s a special occasion. Actually, the most important meal of the day is the one I am hungry for and really feel like eating. Brekky? … not so much.
I don’t mind if you eat breakfast or not. It’s your choice. I just want to let you know that you can go without and not end up mentally dull, overweight and tired. It just depends on what you believe to be true. I believe that I can trust my body to tell me what it wants. And that a cup of tea is more than enough to get me going each morning.
