I spent my teenage years on the Sunshine Coast in Queensland, and through the church my parents attended, I became friends with George Perdikis, John James and Peter Furler. These young men would go on to form the popular Christian rock band The Newsboys.
Thirty years later, we have all changed and gone our separate ways, but through the magic of Facebook, I am still friends with George. Today on The Friendly Atheist, he shares his story.
In 1985, I co-founded The Newsboys, one of the most successful Christian rock bands in history. You may have heard the band’s music in the film God’s Not Dead. The band’s album of the same name hit No. 1 on the Billboard Christian Albums chart.
And I’m now an atheist.
