Gratitude • Warning: May Raise Dangerous Questions

by KatieP, in category Head | Mindfulness
Gratitude • warning: may raise dangerous questions • from head-heart-health.com

My commitment to blog a gratitude post every day in May has slipped away over the last couple of days. The reason is because I have been having a crisis of faith. When I started saying Thank You every day for something in my life, I began to wonder who I was saying Thank You to.… Read More

The Theatre • A Challenging and Rewarding Career

by KatieP, in category Head | Creativity
the theatre • a challenging and rewarding career • from head-heart-health.com

It turns out I wasn’t after the applause, I was after the satisfaction of bringing what had only once been an idea, into life on the stage. I was an integral part of the creative process. Stage Management completely satisfied my urge to be near the bright lights and the magic.

The Storytellers

by KatieP, in category Head | Creativity

This post is to acknowledge and give an identity to the characters who want to tell their story in my novel. There is no explanation, message, insight, or story here — these images are just for my own records. Today I am grateful for a visit from the Muse who has whispered her ideas into my heart. [The cards… Read More

The End • The Joy of Finishing What You Started

by KatieP, in category Head | Creativity
The End • the joy of finishing what you started • from head-heart-health.com

Last Friday, I wrote the words THE END on Stages | Episode Five, the final instalment in the Sophie Walker series. After an enthusiastic start (I wrote the first four episodes in a month) I struggled to write the final episode.

Reading • the Ultimate Escape

Reading • the Ultimate Escape • from head-heart-health.com

Ever since I was a little kid, I’ve devoured books. I don’t ever remember my mother reading to me (although I’m sure she did), I only remember hiding under the covers with a torch and reading long after I should have been asleep.

The Tipping Point • When Strange Becomes Beautiful

by KatieP, in category Health | Sexuality

When Conchita Wurst appeared on stage in a gold lamé gown, her eyes fringed in thick black eyelashes, her hair in long gentle waves, and her chin covered in a dark beard, she wasn’t a circus freak, she was a gorgeous, strange, mesmerising human being.

Sexy Time • Enjoy it While You Can

by KatieP, in category Health | Midlife
sexy time • enjoy it while you can

Today I learned something new about relationships. I learned that as we age, sometimes our bodies don’t do what we would like them to any more. Illness, both mental and physical, along with the medications we have to take to stay healthy, can interfere with both our sex drive and our ability to perform.

The Gift of Time • an Undeserved Blessing • from head-heart-health.com

I am thankful I have time to write, read, blog, think, watch videos, listen to podcasts and interact on social media. I am exceedingly, utterly and completely grateful to have the gift of time.

How Technology Has Changed My Life

by KatieP, in category Health | Sexuality
Technology • Has it made life better or worse? • from head-heart-health.com

Being of a certain age, I have had the curious pleasure of watching technology transform over the past fifty years. When I went to school, we found all our information in an encyclopaedia or at the library. When I went to University, I typed my assignments on an electric typewriter with a corrector ribbon. When I first started work, I sent out rehearsal schedules and important announcements via fax.

Author – Katie Paul

I have survived adoption, bulimia and the suicide of my husband, more or less unscathed. I attribute my resilience to my guardian angels Bob, Fred and Hugo.

I used to be a stage manager but gave it all up to create beautiful images and to write about loss, love, lust and longing. I get a bit raunchy at times because that’s the way life should be – full of big juicy moments. I'm sure Bob, Fred and Hugo agree.
