Rain Rain Go Away

A photo taken by an eyewitness, Troy Campbell, as a freak wave of floodwater swept through Toowoomba on January 10.

The flooding in Qld is horrific. People are being swept away as the rain keeps pouring down. Some of my friends are in trouble.

My brother and his wife are sitting at home in Brisbane watching the creek rise at their back fence. They can’t leave, as the streets are blocked by water in and out of their suburb.

Everyone is talking about it getting worse in Qld, and then the flooding moving in to NSW and Victoria. It’s what we all expect.

Well, I’ve had enough. I know about the power of intention and I believe that we are divine creatures who create our own experience. And I know that some of you believe that too.

What if we all set out intention to expect the rain clouds to be blown out to sea overnight? What if we stopped talking about how bad it has been and how bad it is going to get and instead talked about the rain just blowing itself out? Maybe if enough of us set our intention, we might be able to influence the weather? After all, we’re all part of the same thing — we have cells that were once part the earth, the sea, the clouds.

Let’s unite in love and believe that nothing is impossible. I’ve seen magic before so maybe it’s time for some more. Let’s not glorify the disaster, let’s not relish the drama, let’s instead look forward positively to a miracle. As we softly grieve for those who have already lost so much, let’s take our power and change our expectations of the future.

Mother Nature is our friend. She is the energy of goddesses and priestesses. Let us collectively invite the Universe to spare us this time.
