rescue is possible, love is the movement
Write Love On Her Arms is a not-for-profit organisation started in the States in ’06 by a group of friends rallying around another friend who had fallen on hard times with drugs and self-harm. For anyone suffering depression, anxiety, addiction, self harm or suicide, TWLOHA is there to support them and show them the services available to get them through hard times – much like an advocacy program.
November 13 is International TWLOHA day, a day when a simple gesture of writing the word ‘LOVE’ upon your arm could prove to someone in need that there are people around that care for them – even if you haven’t met this person before. This is a chance for Australia to show how much they support the cause. Let’s get as many people involved as possible.
The TWLOHA cause is supported by international acts such as Paramore, Anberlin, Panic at the Disco, Gym Class Heroes, OneRepublic, Boys Like Girls, Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, Chiodos, Underoath, Forever the Sickest Kids, Switchfoot, Mayday Parade, Evanescence and many many more.
What to Do Today
- Read the To Write Love On her Arms Story here:
- On Nov 13, write ‘LOVE’ on your arm. This is just like wearing denim on Jeans for Genes day, or a red nose for Red Nose Day.
- When someone asks why, tell them about the TWLOHA cause.
Want to do More?
You can also support TWLOHA by buying merchandise from their online store. The clothing is all top quality, and all profits go directly into funding TWLOHA’s activities around the world.
