How do we make sure that our internal representation produces the kind of state, the kind of physiology and the kind of behaviour that we want? How can we be sure that everything is working together?
1. Have a clear outcome.
Have an idea of what it is you want to accomplish. Know where you want to go.
2. Take action
If you have an idea and you do nothing about it then nothing is going to happen.
3. Have sensory acuity
Sensory acuity, noticing minute shifts and changes in others, is only possible when you are paying absolute attention to the person. Listening, looking and having total external focus will lead to you noticing everything that is going on.
4. Have behavioural flexibility
If what you are doing isn’t working, anything else has a better chance of working, so change what you are doing. Make changes in your own state and your own behaviour from moment to moment.
5. Operate from a physiology and psychology of excellence
How do you hold yourself, how do you stand? What kind of thoughts are going on in your head? Think about what it is you want and make sure that the way you are standing, the physiology that you’re in, is very positive and powerful and that will assist you in producing the kind of results you want.
