Self Portrait 365|8

singular
It’s a black and white, no smiling kind of day. Today it feels self-indulgent and vain to flood my blog with pictures of myself. Why would anyone want to look at them?

Life is both sad and solemn. We are led into a wonderful world, we meet one another here, greet each other – and wander together for a brief moment. Then we lose each other and disappear as suddenly and unreasonably as we arrived.
― Jostein Gaarder, Sophie’s World

Anyway … I made myself a new watermark/logo with a font called Kamera Ding (look in the top left hand corner). Fonts make me happy. I know — I’m weird.

Are you getting sick of this project yet?
Do you have any requests or ideas?

  1. One thing I learned when I was blogging was that it’s your blog, you can do whatever the hell you want! 🙂 I think it’s a great project.

  2. I’m not sick of it. I find it inspiring. I think doing something like this might help squelch my life long dislike of my own image..but I am not there yet. I like looking at yours..it’s a living vicariously thing.

    Well…and you’re gorgeous.

  3. This project isn’t about changing how other people see you. It’s all about how you see yourself, so no we are not getting tired of it. This one though makes me think you need a hug.

  4. Have you tried one in disguise yet? I do that with poetry – try on different character and see what I like.

I don’t think I could ever do a project like this, so good for you 🙂

  5. I think this photo is lovely, and I like the new watermark. I don’t think you are being vain at all. For one thing, it’s your blog, why shouldn’t you post as many photos of yourself as you want. Secondly, this is a great project. I myself get very tense when photographed. I’m insecure about my appearance. But I think your project will help you to become more comfortable and confident in your appearance. Not that it should matter, but I happen to think you’re very pretty.
