Scratch My Niche • Razor Sharp Focus or General Chaos?

scratch my niche • razor sharp focus or general chaos

Sometimes I get to the point where I feel as though I’ve run out of things to say. That’s not entirely true. A more accurate statement would be that I have so many things to say that I can’t work out where to start.

So I ask myself, what is my niche? And I don’t know the answer.

A better question is: what have I learned that I want to share with you?

The answers are many ~

  • surviving suicide
  • leaving a bad marriage
  • the devastating and utterly liberating effects of a mid-life crisis
  • reaching my sexual peak in my forties
  • falling and staying in hot, sexy, passionate lust/love
  • photography and web design
  • writing and self-publishing
  • eating disorder recovery
  • spiritual enlightenment
  • the alchemy of the theatre
  • widowhood
  • childlessness

I can’t decide which one to focus on, so I need your help.

What is the most important/interesting/weird thing in your life you know I would totally understand and might be able to help you with?

Or: What is the one blog or website you read religiously because it makes a difference to your day?

Please let me know in the comments and help me stop flailing around in the dark.

  1. Writing and self publishing. I’ve survived my own ill-conceived marriages; am having a sexual renaissance in my fifties (some of us are a little late to the game); have thankfully not had to survive a loved one’s suicide; I have children I would have sent to you about ten years ago but I’ll keep them now.

    But enough about me.

I would love to read further about your spiritual journey and your childlessness.

Just don’t stop writing. Keeping up a daily blog is hard work and more labor intensive than writing a book.

  2. hmmm, Katie, maybe you have a niche already… documenting your personal transformation?

Who knows what anyones’ area of expertise will be in a couple of years time? that in itself is interesting

    1. Hi Linda
Perhaps you’re right about having already found my niche.
And I agree it’s exciting not knowing what the future holds.
      Cheers x

  3. I’m most interested in the topic of falling and staying in hot passionate lust and love plus eating disorder recovery. Having said that, I do find all of your topics very enlightening. Thanks for the great writing!
