I was listening to a podcast the other day about writing in which the class exercise was to write a really really bad short piece. On purpose. And after the exercise was finished the students shared their work. It was brilliant.

Life doesn't turn out the way it's meant to. I believed that if I was a good girl and followed the rules then I would live the life of my dreams. Instead, I ended up with an eating disorder and having to cope with my husband's decision to kill himself.
When everything turned to shit I no longer had the energy to be the person I thought the world wanted me to be. I discovered that being my authentic self opened up a world of joy and peace beyond anything I'd ever imagined.
