How Feminine Power Beats Masculine Force In Matters of Weight Release

A turned-on woman rejects force in favor of real power. She educates rather than emasculates. Rather than withdraw, avoid, judge, and bludgeon, she enters and transforms. She knows that she is responsible for preparing the world to receive her. Rather than taking the easy way out and demanding her freedom, she shows others how they will benefit from it. ~ Turned {On} Woman’s Manifesto

Force is masculine energy. It relies on authority to make people do what you want them to do in the way you want them to do it.

Power is feminine energy. It is the ability to attract, draw in, magnetise, and inspire people to be productive and create.

Force and Power

The fitness industry sets itself up as an authority and uses masculine force to get us to conform. It disapproves of our current behaviours and tells us that we must follow their system (be in points, calories, food elimination, exercise protocols or correct form) in order to sculpt a sexy, attractive, energised body. It wants to control our decisions and works hard to make us feel that we are incompetent and clueless without their intervention. Is it any wonder it doesn’t work?

Intuitive eating and self-love comes from a place of power. All it asks us to do is to genuinely express our desires (hungry, full, caring for ourselves) and allows us to find our own way. It approves of us, includes us and engages us. We feel capable, generous and enabled.

Force takes so much energy. When we follow the demands of the health and fitness gurus we push ourselves into action and hold ourselves accountable.

Power is effortless. It is letting go and relinquishing control. It is trusting that our heart knows what’s best for us. There are no demands, only requests.

So instead of using force in your life, embrace your feminine power. Notice your desires. Ask what the world would look like if you took a walk, just for you. How would you feel if you ate a salad, just because you felt like it rather than because you had to?

We are goddesses who inspire the world with our beauty, joy and strength. Our feminine essence is centred in power. Listen to your own voice when it comes to eating and moving in a way that energises you. And when you do, you will inspire others to do the same. We don’t need to force the world to find freedom from disordered eating and obsessive exercise, we just need to continue our practice of self love and in doing so, our hearts will invite others to begin their own journey to health and happiness.

Our bodies don’t need to be forced, they need to be empowered.

  1. This is true of all things, not just weight loss. I have to rely on my power, not my force, and I am just realising my own power.
